Large-dog travel can involve more questions than it should: Is there a weight cap? Is the room actually comfortable? Is there enough outdoor space? PawHaus Resort answers the first question plainly. We have no size limits and no breed restrictions. A dog’s size is not used to decide whether the dog belongs at the resort.

That is part of our dog-first approach. PawHaus is a luxury retreat where dogs are the guests of honor, not a last-minute accommodation. Located on 30 lakefront acres in Goodrich, Texas, the resort gives dogs and their people a setting designed for shared time, from the private yard at a mirror house to dedicated play areas.

What every dog receives at PawHaus

There are no dog fees at PawHaus. Each mirror house is prepared with dog beds, bowls, and towels, so the essential in-house comforts are already there on arrival. Guests do need to bring their dog’s food. This straightforward arrangement lets travelers focus on the trip rather than a collection of surprise charges or packing gaps.

The resort does have care rules that all guests should understand. Dogs need current rabies and DHPP vaccinations. Bordetella is required only for the dog park, grooming salon, and indoor dog play area. Dogs must remain on leash around the property except in the fenced dog park and their private yard. Dogs may be left alone in a mirror house. Crates are recommended, and owners are responsible for any damage caused by their dogs.

More room than a hotel hallway

For a large dog, a destination is about the places beyond the sleeping area. PawHaus has an expansive fenced dog park with natural terrain, scent gardens, and room for off-leash play. It is a dedicated outdoor space where dogs can move and explore instead of relying on a brief walk beside a parking lot.

The PawHaus Play Area adds an indoor alternative. It is climate-controlled and equipped with agility equipment, offering dogs a place to stretch their legs and engage their minds when outdoor conditions are not ideal. Professional grooming and guest wash stations are available on site, while professional daycare and in-house sitting can help if people need to step away.

Find the house that fits your group

PawHaus has 12 ÖÖD mirror houses in several sizes. The Petite Mirror House is 221 square feet with a Queen bed and accommodates two guests and up to two dogs. The Standard Mirror House offers 298 square feet, a King bed, and space for two guests and up to two dogs. Both house types have a one-night minimum.

Travelers with a larger human group or more dogs can consider the Monolith. At 398 square feet, it has two Queen beds, a private hot tub, and capacity for up to four guests and three dogs. A two-night minimum applies on weekends. All houses include WiFi, coffee, luxury linens, and air conditioning. One Standard house includes ramp access, a widened doorway, and grab bars.

Rates vary by season and weekend availability. A 50% payment secures the reservation, with the remaining balance due 14 days before arrival. A refundable $250 authorization hold is placed the day before arrival for potential damage and released the day after checkout if no damage occurs. Comparing house capacity, minimum stays, and current availability is the best way to select a stay that works for your household and your dog.

There is no restaurant on site. Food trucks operate Wednesday through Sunday, and guests are highly encouraged to bring groceries. A larger dog may have a familiar sleep routine, exercise needs, and comfort items that are worth considering before travel. PawHaus supplies beds, bowls, and towels, while guests bring dog food and any personal essentials their dog relies on. Plan for leash use outside the designated off-leash areas and bring a crate if the dog may be alone in the house.
